The best test would be on a bench press and around 2-4 reps max to test your strengh and max pullups.

QoolOli Says:

You must remember that strenght and muscle endurance are to different things. Fast muscle fibers creates quick power, and the slow muscle fibers are utilized when doing low intensity over a longer period of time. So doing very high repetetions of pushups doesn’t say much about your muscle strenght. At least that is whatt I define as muscle strenght.

I do three sets of 100 every night.I do 50 regular,25 narrow which is where you put your hands together and touch them with your nose when you go to the floor and then I do 25 wide which is just putting your hands out further than normal push ups.I dont know how many I can do without stopping though I’ve never tryed that.I do 300 every day but not without stopping.

My record is 200 consecutive push-ups, and I’m trying to beat that when my arms are healed… When I started, I could do perhaps 40. However, I’ve trained my muscles for more than ten years now, so that helps.

strong1235 Says:

How about an update on your best at pushups?

Taronga Says:

yeah, just to vouch for your answer for anyone who reads this :) .

men should do pushups as she demonstrates because for us, our center of gravity would be between our shoulders.

as for women, because of the body difference, with the same position their center of gravity would be on the lowerback, which cause mores injurys (you can do it like she does.. tho you only increase the chance on injuring yourself)

that’s why woman are recommended to do it from the knees ^^
